Save the date for the LCHCF 10^th Annual Legacy Award Luncheon, scheduled for Friday, May 6^th, 2022 at the Washington Duke Inn. Our legacy honoree will be Ms. Carolyn E. Henderson, former chair of the Foundation Board. Ms. Henderson could not be recognized in 2020 when the luncheon was cancelled. Registration will open in January. Proceeds from this year’s legacy luncheon will be directed to Lincoln’s new Lakewood clinic scheduled to open in the fall, 2022. Lincoln Administers COVID-19 Vaccines

To date, Lincoln has administered over 14,000 COVID-19 vaccine doses. Vaccines are available free of charge, daily from 9:00 to 11:00 and 1:00 to 4:00, no appointment needed. $25,000 Awarded for Scholarships

A special thank you to Duke Health for a $25,000 donation to the Phil Harewood Scholarship fund. The gift was announced by Ms. Katie Galbraith, President of Duke Regional Hospital, at the September 17^th on-line recognition event for Mr. Harewood’s retirement. The Phil Harewood Scholarship fund awards financial grants to children of LCHC employees who are attending a college or university. Grants are by application and made once a year. In making the gift, Ms. Galbraith said “We are honored to thank and recognize Phil for his leadership at Lincoln over his distinguished career by contributing to a program that is so important to him.” Phil Harewood, CEO, retired on September 30^th after 28 years at Lincoln, the past 10 as chief executive officer. LCHC Backpack Drive August 11th

On August 8th-14th, Lincoln Community Health Center celebrated National Health Center Week, recognizing the hard work of community health center staff in North Carolina and nationwide. With a donation from the LCHC Foundation, Lincoln was able to provide backpacks and school supplies to 40 pediatric patients who came to Lincoln on Wednesday, August 11th. Thank you to everyone who assisted, our donors and the LCHC Foundation for financial support, and to all LCHC staff who helped make this event possible.

National Health Center Week August 8-14

Join us as we celebrate National Health Center Week 2021 from August 8th-14th to raise awareness about the mission and accomplishments of America’s health centers over the past five decades. Community health centers, like Lincoln, serve as a beacon of strength, service, and care in our communities. This year, National Health Center Week honors those front-line providers, staff, and patients who lost their lives during the COVID-19 pandemic. From the very beginning of the crisis, Community health centers began finding innovative ways to provide preventative and primary care to their patients. We kept our staff and patients safe through social distancing, masks, and telehealth. Lincoln never closed or reduced hours during the pandemic and provided care to our most at-risk citizens, including free COVID-19 testing and vaccinations.
